What an audit finds (and what you'll actually fix)

Most Google Ads accounts leak money in the same places: negative keywords you haven’t added, audiences that overlap and compete with each other, conversion tracking that’s broken, landing page mismatches, bid strategies working against your actual margins.

An audit isn’t theory. I’ll dig through your account, spot the bleeding, and hand you a list of fixes—quick wins and strategic moves—ranked by impact. Some you can do yourself in an afternoon. Others are bigger: rebuild the conversion tracking, restructure audience strategy, rethink the bid model.

The point is you’ll know exactly what’s happening and why, and you’ll own the choice of what to fix and when.

What's covered in a full audit

The audit process

  1. Access & scopeYou grant read-only access to your Google Ads account. We agree on what matters most: ecommerce ROAS, lead cost, customer acquisition, conversion tracking.
  2. Deep dive3–5 days of analysis. I’ll pull data, test landing pages, check audience quality, and map competitive landscape.
  3. Written findingsAudit report with findings, priority ranking, detailed recommendations, and rough impact estimates where possible.
  4. Debrief call60-minute walkthrough of the report, questions answered, and discussion of next steps. No obligation to hire me after.

When an audit makes sense

You’ve got ads running, some budget going out, but something feels off—CPL is drifting, ROAS is lumpy, or you just inherited an account and don’t know if it’s solid. An audit is a snapshot: it answers the question “is this account healthy or broken?”

About pricing & scope

Audits vary in complexity depending on account size, number of campaigns, and how deep we go on competitive research. Most audits I quote bespoke after a 20-minute discovery call—usually in the range of one-off fixed pricing, no hourly billing.

There’s no obligation to hire me for ongoing management. You get the findings, own the account, and you can implement the fixes yourself, give them to your current agency, or bring me in for the heavy lifting. Your choice.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an audit take?

Typically 3–5 business days from account access to written report. Then a 60-minute debrief call. Total timeline: 1–2 weeks depending on account complexity and report customisation.

Will you tell me to spend more money?

Only if the evidence says so. Most audits I do find wasted spend that should be cut or redeployed. If your account structure is solid and your margins support it, sure, we’ll discuss scaling. But I won’t manufacture recommendations.

Can you audit a Wiltshire business account remotely?

Yes—all work is remote. Doesn’t matter if you’re in Swindon, Malmesbury, or anywhere in Wiltshire. I’ll need Google Ads account access (read-only), and we’ll do a debrief call when the report is ready.

What if the audit uncovers major problems?

You’ll have a detailed roadmap of what to fix. Some fixes are do-it-yourself (negative keywords, bid tweaks). Some need hands-on work (tracking rebuild, audience restructure). From there we can discuss whether you want help implementing, or you handle it.

Is there a minimum ad spend to qualify for an audit?

No minimum. Whether you’re spending £500/month or £50,000/month, the same audit framework applies. The questions change slightly (focus areas), but structure and tracking matter at every level.

How much does an audit cost?

Bespoke quote based on scope—account size, complexity, how much competitive research you want. Get in touch and we’ll talk through your situation and I’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts.
